I have found the joy of audio books! I bought 'Too Close To Home' by Linwood Barclay on audio book yesterday, and have started to listen to it whilst I stitch. It is so much better than having the TV on in the background! I just need to transfer it on to my iPod, then I can listen to it on the move, too...
I have been stitching on some of my UFO's this week - mainly due to my attempt at organising all my stitchy stuff. The main one I've worked on is Heritage Stitchcraft's 'Lancashire map'. This has been in my UFO box for quite a long time (years)...I get it out sometimes, stitch bits on it, then it goes back in the box. The maps are quite fiddly, with lots of odd bits all over the place. I managed to finish the 'Isle of Skye' map for my parents a couple of years ago, but this one is more detailed.
I'm going to a Stitcher's Meet in Nuneaton (Midlands) on Saturday. I haven't been to one before - I was supposed to go a couple of years ago, but something happened to prevent me from going...can't remember what it was now...I'm going to take my Mermaid with me, so I can work on her whilst there. I'm looking forward to it!
I'll update my stitching on Sunday...

what you said is absolutely right...music or audio books are my favorite while cross stitching..i cannot cross stitch in front of tv...if i do it i'll have to frog it...lol
I love listening to audio books while I stitch, too, Lynn. That way I can enjoy my two favorite things (books and stitching) at the same time!
Have a great time at your stitchers get-together...sounds like fun :)
I quite like watching TV when I stitch, but I think I get more done when I listen to music! I hope you have fun at your Stitcher's Meet :)
Enjoy the rest of the audio book. I like a good documentary on in the background, as they're interesting & mean I don't always have to watch them whilst stitching. Have fun at the meet up. :0)
I also am a big fan of reading. I have been putting auidobooks on my ipod for a couple of years now and love it. I also watch a lot of series on TV and will not start any new ones. Once mine are off the air then it is movies and audiobooks for me :-)
Thanks for visiting my blog.
I hope you start feeling better soon. Enjoy stitching while you have to stay at home.
Have a great time at the Stitcher's meet!
Re the audio books. Are you listening on ipod? Have you seen Audible.co.uk? I've been a member for nearly 2 years. It's £7 a month and you can download any one book per month for that - any price book too! Saves a fortune as most of the audio books are £10-£20.
